Conciliator
WHAT TO DO IF YOU DISAGREE WITH YOUR LAWYER
- A lawyer, member of the Bar Council, free of charge, helps those accused of offences to understand better the procedures and the work done by the lawyers of the Bar of Liège.
 - He seeks to ensure there is good mutual understanding in relations between lawyers and their clients.
 - More precisely, he listens to the questions of those accused of offences with regard to their relationships with their lawyer or the world of justice in general.
 - He listens to those accused of criminal offences.
 - He clarifies matters to them as far as possible.
 - He attempts to find out more from the lawyers mentioned.
 - He provides further explanations.
 - He suggests solutions:
	
- to the lawyers concerned
 - to those accused of offences.
 
 
WHAT IS HE UNABLE TO DO?
- He will not deputise for the lawyer in giving advice of a legal or even tactical nature.
 - He will not intervene in order to resolve a dispute that must be judged in a court of law or tribunal.
 - He will not challenge a Iegal decision.
 - He wiIl not issue instructions to a lawyer, nor require that they reply to him.
 - He will not inform the president of the Bar of any problem that has been identified but not resolved through the task of conciliation with which he has been entrusted.
 - He wiIl not impose disciplinary measures on a lawyer.
 
WHERE, WHEN AND HOW CAN HE BE CONSULTED?
- At the Palais de Justice : it is sufficient to ask at the Palais reception.
 - Every first and third Wednesday, from 14.00 to 15.30 hrs, except school holidays and publics holidays.
 - By visiting him, without appointment.
